More Ideas for A Christ-Centered Easter:

ree

Today I have three more ideas to help you point your children towards the Good News of the Cross this Easter season:

Make your Own Resurrection Eggs:

ree

One of my favorite activities to do with the children leading up to Easter are Resurrection Eggs by Family Life which can be purchased at your local Christian bookstore or  Amazon. The Resurrection Eggs kit comes with a booklet and a story for each egg BUT these can also be homemade (way cheaper!).  To make your own, this is what you will  need:

  1. 1 dozen plastic Easter eggs
  2. an egg carton
  3. bread bit or crouton
  4. 3 fake coins or pennies
  5. bit of purple cloth
  6. toothpick (represents thorns)
  7. piece of rope of string
  8. small cross
  9. nails
  10. Sign which says:  This is the King of the Jews
  11. Bits of a sponge
  12. small spear
  13. small rock

Join here to obtain the the instructions and Scripture references.

This is a great tool for sharing the Gospel with unsaved children or for leading your own child to the Lord.

Make Gospel Goodie Bags - Kids LOVE getting to eat food and one that can teach a lesson is one of my favorite ways to teach children.

ree

Each part of this treat mix is symbolic for some portion of Jesus’ final week on earth or the Gospel message.  You can make these to share with friends or just make a big bowl to enjoy as you look forward to celebrating Resurrection Sunday.  Join my Email List below to get the link to the ingredients and printable to include with the goodie bags:

Make Easter Story Stones:

ree

I got this idea from Mr. Marks Classroom.  Please go to his website to get the printable to be used with this: https://mrmarksclassroom.com/easter-story-stones/.  This is super easy to make using a paint pen and some rocks.  I have found that "good old dirt" and rocks are sometimes a child's favorite toys.  You can use these rocks and mat to retell the story of Easter over and over throughout the Easter Season.

He is not here! For He has been resurrected, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay. Matthew 28:6

Supplies Needed:

  1. 8 Small rocks
  2. Paint pen that will show up well on your stones
  3. Pre-printed 8X10 story stone page (or let each child make their own)
  4. Container to keep the rocks in

Instructions:

Use the paint pen to draw the following items on each rock:

ree

Allow the paint to dry completely.

Tips:

  1. Spray clear sealant on the rocks and allow them to dry completely for a second time. This keeps the paint from chipping when they hit up against each other in the container.
  2. Print the scriptures in a booklet form (available at Mr. Mark's Classroom link above) and include it in the container with the rocks and mat (the website has a pre-printable that can be used).
  3. Consider laminating the Story Stones Mat if you are using regular copy paper – rolls up well and lasts longer.

Come back for more ideas next week!  What ideas do you have to share the good news of Jesus Christ with your children and neighbors at Easter?

The Model Prayer - Using the Lord's Prayer to Guide Your Communication with God

This post explains the true purpose of prayer and how Jesus modeled it during His ministry. Using the P-R-A-Y framework Praise, Repent, Ask, and Yield—it breaks down the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9–13) into practical steps for daily prayer and deeper connection with God.
